Meet the Team
Founders and principals include D. Carlos Kaslow and Scott Zucker of the Self Storage Legal Network (SSLN) and Steve Lucas of The Storage Group and ClickandStor®. Together this team brings nearly 100 years of combined legal, technical, and operational experience in the self storage industry.
Carlos Kaslow is a California attorney and serves as the General Counsel to the Self Storage Association. He is the editor of the Self Storage Legal Review, the SSA’s legal periodical. Mr. Kaslow is a founding partner of the Self Storage Legal Network; the industry’s only telephone and e-mail legal information service. He has provided legal consulting services to several of the largest U.S. self storage operators and provides the national and state self storage associations with legal and drafting assistance on lien law reform bills.
He has written numerous articles on legal and insurance issues confronting the self storage operators and managers for the SSA Globe and other industry publications. He is the co-author of the Rental Agreement Handbook, the Self Storage Association’s state annotated lien manual series and The Best of the Self Storage Legal Network: Answers to the 75 Most Frequently Asked Legal Questions on the Self Storage Business. Carlos and also co-writes a monthly column in the SSA Globe magazine and teaches online legal seminars for the SSA Online University. He received his law degree from California State University-Long Beach and resides in Berkley, CA.
Scott Zucker specializes in business and commercial litigation with an emphasis on dispute resolution in the areas of construction, real estate, employment, landlord-tenant and franchise law. Scott represents companies in matters relating to contract claims, loss and damage claims, delay and productivity claims, premises liability actions and tenant dispossessory. Scott also reviews and drafts construction contracts, property PDF leases and employment agreements, trains property managers in office, retail, multi-family, industrial and self-storage and evaluates property management operations in those areas. Scott also has extensive experience in creditors’ rights and bankruptcy proceedings as well as in commercial collections. He represents companies throughout the country in resolving their commercial disputes in state or federal courts and through Alternate Dispute Resolution. Scott obtained his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 1984 and his law degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C in 1987. He is a partner in Weissmann Zucker Euster Morochnik, P.C. in Atlanta, GA.
Steve Lucas is a Principal and Chief Operating Officer of The Storage Group, a digital marketing agency specializing in cutting-edge self storage technology products and services that ensure industry success and an improved customer experience.
Having his first successful start-up at the age of 25, Steve Lucas’ 35 year career holds many successful business development and leadership roles. He has been recognized as a creative business leader, being awarded “Person of The Year” by the Florida Swimming Pool Association, twice.
